How to Set Multi-Unit (Volume) Pricing
Learn how to set up multi-box (volume) pricing for contact lenses in Otto. This allows you to offer 6-month or annual supply discounts directly through your catalog.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Open the Products Module
-
Click the Products tab (box icon) in the left-hand sidebar.
-
You will see your Catalog with all active products.
2. Select the Product
-
Click the name of the product you want to configure.
-
This opens the product’s detailed view.
3. Access Volume Pricing
-
In the product detail view, click Volume Price.
-
This is where you can create pricing tiers based on supply quantity.
4. Select the Supply Level (Per Eye)
-
Choose the appropriate option based on supply:
-
2 Boxes (for One Eye) → typically used for a 6-month supply
-
4 Boxes (for One Eye) → typically used for a 12-month (annual) supply
-
Otto calculates multi-box pricing per eye, not per patient.
5. Enter the Price
-
Enter the total price for the selected number of boxes per eye.
-
Repeat this process for any additional supply levels you wish to offer.
6. Add Additional Discounts (Optional)
-
You can continue adding pricing tiers for different supply quantities.
-
Each tier must be entered individually.
7. Click Save
-
Click Save to apply your volume pricing changes.
Understanding Multi-Box Pricing (Per Eye Calculation)
Otto calculates volume pricing per eye, meaning you enter half of the full patient supply and half of the total price.
Example: Daily & Bi-Weekly Lenses
-
3 Months = 1 box per eye
-
6 Months = 2 boxes per eye
-
12 Months = 4 boxes per eye
Example: Monthly Lenses
-
6 Months = 1 box per eye
-
12 Months = 2 boxes per eye
If a patient purchases lenses for both eyes, Otto automatically combines the per-eye pricing to calculate the full order total.
Important Notes
-
Volume pricing must be configured individually for each product.
-
Pricing tiers apply to both in-clinic quotes and online store purchases.
-
Ensure pricing aligns with your rebate programs to maintain accurate annual supply quotes.
-
If pricing appears incorrect in a quote, confirm that:
-
The correct volume tier is saved.
-
The pricing was entered per eye (not full supply).
-
When to Contact Support
-
If volume pricing is not appearing correctly in quotes.
-
If supply levels do not match expected rebate logic.
-
If pricing appears inconsistent after saving.
If the issue persists, please submit a support ticket so our team can investigate further.
