How to Manage Your Product Catalog in Otto

The Products tab is where you can manage the products available through your clinic, update pricing, configure volume discounts, select preferred suppliers, and control which products appear on your Otto Webstore.

 

Viewing Your Product Catalog

Go to the Products tab in Otto to see all products currently active in your catalog.

For each product, you can view:

  • Product name and category
  • Default supplier
  • Per-box price
  • Taxable status
  • Competitor pricing, if you're on Otto Premium
  • Featured Product status, if you're on Otto Premium

Important: Any product with a $0 price will not appear on your Otto Webstore.

Updating a Product Price

To change a product's regular per box price:

  1. Find the product by scrolling through your catalog or using the Search bar.
  2. Click directly into the Price field.
  3. Enter the new per-box price.

Your new per-box price is saved automatically.

Important: Your per-box price and supply-level pricing are managed separately. If you change a product's per-box price, Otto will not automatically update its six-month, annual, or other supply-level pricing.

Setting Up Volume Pricing

If you offer discounts when the patient buys larger supplies, here is what you need to know:

Supply-level pricing can be configured using two different pricing methods:

    • Per Eye: Allows patients wearing different products in each eye to still qualify for the appropriate supply-level pricing.
    • Combined Quantity: Determines pricing based on the number of boxes purchased for each individual product.

Adding or Removing Products

  • Add a Product

    • Click Add Product in the top-right corner of the Products tab, search for the product, select it, and click Add to Catalog.

    • From there, you can enter the per-box price, choose the default supplier, confirm whether the product is taxable, and click Confirm.

    • Can't find the product? Use Request a Product to send a request to the Otto team.

    • Only see Manual Fulfillment? This means the product is not currently available for drop-ship fulfillment through Otto.

  • Remove a Product

    • Select the checkbox beside the product and click Remove from Catalog.

    • You can add the product back to your catalog later if needed by following the instructions above.

  • Can't Find a Product?

    • If the product you're looking for isn't listed when you click Add Product:

    • Click Request a Product.

    • Complete the requested product information.

    • Submit the form. The request will be sent to the Otto team so the product can be added.

Choosing a Default Supplier

If a product is available through multiple connected suppliers or distributors, you can select which supplier you'd like Otto to default to for fulfillment.

This is simply the default selection—you can still choose a different supplier when placing an individual order.

If Manual Fulfillment is the only supplier option available for a product, that product is not currently available for drop-ship fulfillment through Otto.

Tax Toggle

Otto allows you to control whether tax should be charged on each product individually. From your Product Catalog, use the Tax toggle on the far right of the product to turn tax on or off.
  • Over-the-counter (OTC) products: Tax enabled
  • Contact lenses: Tax disabled

Your clinic's tax rate can be reviewed or updated under: Settings > Preferences

The Tax toggle in your Product Catalog determines which products are taxable, while the tax rate in Preferences determines the rate that will be applied.

Competitor Pricing – Otto Premium

Otto Premium users can view competitor pricing directly from the Product Catalog.

Competitor pricing is pulled from:

  • Clearly.ca in Canada
  • 1-800 Contacts in the US

Otto also provides an indicator to help you quickly compare your per-box price:

  • Yellow dot: Your price is below the competitor price.
  • Red dot: Your price is above the competitor price by +10%.

Competitor pricing is also available when generating Lens Quotes, making it easier to demonstrate your clinic's value to patients.

Featured Products – Otto Premium

Featured Products display directly on your Webstore's landing page, making it easy to highlight the products you most want patients to see.

Premium users can feature up to 9 products on their Otto Webstore for both contact lenses and over-the-counter products.

To feature a product:

  1. Find the product in your catalog.
  2. Turn on the Featured Product toggle beside its name.
  3. Repeat for up to 9 products.

To see how they appear to patients, click Otto Store from the top navigation bar.

Exporting Your Product Catalog

You can download a copy of your current catalog and pricing at any time.

  1. Click Export Catalog.
  2. Select Your Catalog.
  3. Otto will generate an Excel file containing your current product catalog and pricing.

This can be especially helpful when reviewing your pricing or preparing for larger pricing updates.

Quick Summary

  • Need to change a per-box price? Click directly into the price field. Changes save automatically.

  • Offer six-month or annual discounts? Click the product and review Volume Pricing. Remember, changing the per-box price does not automatically update these prices.

  • Need to add a product? Select Add Product, search for it, choose your supplier and settings, and click Confirm.

  • Can't find the product? Use Request a Product to send it to the Otto team.

  • Want to remove a product? Check the box beside it and select Remove from Catalog.

  • Only see Manual Fulfillment? The product isn't available for drop-ship fulfillment through Otto.

  • On Otto Premium? Use Competitor Pricing to compare your prices and Featured Products to highlight up to 9 products on your Webstore.

  • Have a large pricing update? Export your catalog to review it, then send your updated pricing to Otto Support if you'd like help making the changes.
